Happy Memorial Day

I love most holidays and I have been looking forward to Memorial Day.  I decided to make a flag banner for our new outdoor fireplace.

I began with the small little flags that you can get at many stores.  I got mine in the Dollar Area of my local Target store.  They were three for a dollar.  I took the flags off the little sticks.  This was easy to do--they were stapled on-not glued.  Then I got a package of red seam binding that I would use for the banner.  I had previously measured (with twine) the length of the banner and the draping style that I wanted to achieve the day before.

Then, I pinned and spaced the flags out along
the seam binding and I sewed them up!

In no time, I was done and hanging my banner!
It looked great--just like I had imagined it.

A few more touches and my porch was
ready for friends and family.
