The Chapel Market

So, did you get to go to The Chapel event in Pike Road, Alabama?  I got to go and it was the most fun!  It was exactly what I thought and hoped it would be--lots of  eye candy in the form of beautiful vintage displays--a happy crowd of shoppers and wonderful, friendly bloggers who were so happy to see us.

Layla Palmer of The Lettered Cottage has been working on this event for months.  She would keep us up-dated with details as the time for the event grew closer.  Thank YOU, Layla for planning and organizing such a fun event for us!

So, I had never been to an event like this before and even though it was exactly what I had hoped and thought it would be, I didn't know what time I should plan to be there.  Layla had said in her last post that they would probably have to let shoppers inside in groups to keep things safe with the Fire Department.  That being said, my sister-in-law and I decided that we would rather have a wait at the door BEFORE the event started, rather than stand in line OUTSIDE while others were inside shopping....and waiting for them to leave so we could go in.

It was raining when I woke up this morning.
I hadn't thought about waiting in line AND getting wet while waiting for the event to begin.  Fortunately,
it stopped raining so it wasn't a soggy wait.

There were two lovely floral arrangements on the
doors to welcome everyone who attended.

Before the doors opened, there were several opportunities to visit and take a few photos.  On the left is Rhonda of Southern Hospitality.  In the middle is Linda of Coastal Charm along with KariAnne of Thistle Wood Farms.
KariAnne came outside when it was
almost time for the doors to open.

She was so excited!
She told us we were going to LOVE
what was behind those doors!
 She was right--of course!
Mary of Urban Farm Girl came out to say hello.

Miss Mustard Seed peeped out to say good morning.
Being on the porch early really had it's advantages!

Layla came outside just minutes before the event started.
She is so pretty and has the most beautiful smile.
And, with this blog event, I must say,
some of the BEST IDEAS!

Layla and my sister-in-law, Kelley, share a laugh.
They used to be neighbors!

And then, the doors OPENED!

Shaunna of Perfectly Imperfect takes a picture
of the shoppers as they enter the building.

Lots of vintage goodies to see!

I bought this "OPEN" sign at KariAnne's booth.
I told her that my kitchen was always open. You've probably read
a post or two of hers that mentions gas station pizza

The Waters is a beautiful community.
Stop by when you have a chance and you'll be glad you did.

Okay, if you've read this to the end, I'll tell the truth.
My sister-in-law and I arrived for the 9:00 event at....
6:05.
 I know.
But really, we both agreed that we were glad we got there
when we did and it only seemed like we had waited
a few minutes before the doors opened.
So, what did we do while we waited?
We giggled and laughed that we were there so early (completley dark, still).
We had a snack, we talked and when it finally got light,
I took the best sassy picture of my
 Birthday Weekend Celebrating Self!
