Frightful Foyer

Several years ago, I bought some fabric for a project.
I didn't use it all, so I decided to use the extra
fabric to decorate my foyer for Halloween.

Here's what my foyer normally looks like.

Now I know some of you are probably shocked that my furniture
isn't painted or distressed....no that's not supposed to be the scary part!

Here's what I did to get the mournful look in my foyer.
I gathered the fabric in the middle and let it hang down from the top of the mirror.
I have it fastened with a black bow with silver accents in the ribbon.

I have some silver-looking pieces that I use in the foyer for Halloween
that I hope lend an old, antique look to the area.

I have several wooden crows that I place along on the chest, too.

I use a couple of chunky purple candles to give the spot just a touch of color.

I also place a styrofoam head stone behind one of the layers of fabric.

My Frightful Foyer

Can you imagine what all the Garden Club ladies thought
when we met at my house in October?

Hi Marsha, thanks so much for stopping by. You did an awesome job on your Frightful Foyer. I love the use of all of you fabric. What a great idea to hang it from your mirror. And I don't have a lot of painted furniture either, maybe some day!

Marsha your furniture does not have to be painted white. I for one prefer the look of dark wood. Although I do have shabby chic room!

Always surprise people is what I say. I love the fabric on the mirror. I am one of the very few who seldom if ever paints furniture in blogland. Thanks bunches for visiting me. hugs♥Olive

Funny about the Garden Club Girls. That's a great look for that area. I don't have a lot of painted furniture either. Just between you and me, I shudder when I see some people painting priceless antiques sometimes. I'm not above painting not too priceless stuff and heavily damaged stuff though.

The garden club ladies were probably surprised at the spooky decor. I agree with you, not everything should be painted. Sometimes is gives me shivers when I see some pieces that are covered with paint.

Thanks for being a part of Potpourri Friday!
