Vintage General Electric Fan 1925-1926

The temperatures are starting to climb here in Alabama--how about where you live?
Today, since it's starting to get pretty warm, I wanted to share with you this General Electric oscillating table fan from late 1925 to early 1926.
My brother got the fan--he cleaned it up (took it apart) and repainted it for me.   He's not one of those guys who just gets a can of spray paint to fix something up.  He really goes all out--a perfectionist indeed.  It was a complete surprise for me and I'm delighted with this special gift.

I thought I would put it out on the desk in my great room so everyone could see this beauty.  It's a 12" fan and originally came in black or dark green.  It was made to convert to a wall mounted fan, but I'd never do this.  It's actually pretty heavy-the base is cast iron.  The blades are brass and he polished them so that they really do shine.

If you purchased this fan in 1925-1926 it would have set you back $31.60.  Today, because it was a labor of love from my brother, it is priceless!

I hope you stay cool if the temperatures
are starting to climb where you are.
